The castles on the left bank, dominated by Cabernet Sauvignon, contrast beautifully with the estates on the right bank, where Merlot reigns supreme.

• Château Bellegrave, Médoc (Cru Bourgeois): Imagine a Louis XV hunting lodge nestled in deep, glistening gravel, where the roots of Cabernet Sauvignon eagerly sink into the geological heritage of the river. This is Bellegrave, an aristocrat of spirit, bearing the marks of centuries and the luster of Durt.
• Château Les Vieux Chênes, Lussac Saint-Émilion: Here time flows more slowly. Medieval vines and ancient oaks (vieux chênes) guard the secrets of the Gallo-Roman era.
